What It Is

The complexity of work in Middle School, and High School can surprise and overwhelm students, leaving them struggling to thrive. At the same time, students have new capabilities that they might not yet know how to use. Open Door Education’s Personalized Learning Intensive empowers students and helps families provide smart support and effective advocacy by providing students with a detailed understanding of their learning style and specific strategies to leverage their strengths.

What To Expect

Your student’s Personalized Learning Intensive begins with an assessment of existing documentation followed by a comprehensive consultation about your student’s experience and needs. Over the course of the program, a skilled and experienced professional educator works with your student to help them understand how they best learn and to provide an informal evaluation that is used to craft a plan of action.

Why It’s Great

When your student has completed Open Door Education’s Personalized Learning Intensive, they will have developed a stronger understanding of who they are and how they learn – essential ingredients in supporting their long-term success. Even better, they have a clear and actionable plan to help them get unstuck and build momentum as they take the next steps on their academic journey.

Ellen is one of the most respectful teachers I have ever encountered: her patience is exhibited in every interaction with students and adults. Ellen works to help students develop their “voice” and emphasizes fairness.
